CEDEC is expanding its team and wishes to hire a part-time Project Accounting Agent for its Employment Assistance Services Capacity Development Initiative (EASCDI). The Project Accounting Agent reports to the Controller.

Position summary

The Project Accounting Agent is responsible for providing accounting, financial tracking, and administrative support to ensure the smooth delivery of EASCDI activities. This role contributes to accurate financial reporting, consistent documentation, and effective project monitoring. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accounting and bookkeeping support to the Controller
  • Enter and maintain financial data related to third party contracts and project activities
  • Keep financial records accurate and up to date using QuickBooks online
  • Process accounts payable for project-related expenses
  • Code and prepare invoices for approval and payment
  • Post journal entries and reconciling accounts as required
  • Input, track and monitor project budgets, including sub agreement allocations
  • Assemble, organize and upload all supporting financial documentation
  • Maintain an organized online financial filing system for all project records
  • Perform other related duties consistent with experience and qualifications

Other Skills And/Or Abilities

Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting or bookkeeping training (DEP)
  • Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping or accounting support
  • Experience using electronic accounting programs (QuickBooks Online preferred)
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping
  • General office experience and professionalism in an administrative environment
  • Discretion with sensitive financial information
  • Experience working with nonprofit, community development, or government-funded projects is considered an asset
